Matthew C. Simon
After obtaining my degree from St. John’s University, with honors, I graduated in the top 1/3 of my class from Hofstra Law School. In 2002, I interned with Supreme Court Judge, Laura Jacobson, and in 2003, I trained with the New York County District Attorney’s Office.
In 2005, I began as an Associate Attorney with a mid-sized insurance defense and civil litigation firm. As an Associate Attorney, I learned the ropes from the ground up. I began by drafting discovery responses, reviewing medical records, taking depositions, advocating in mediations and arbitrations, arguing motions, and attending Court Appearances, throughout the New York and New Jersey area.
I was promoted to Senior Associate in 2009, and then, in 2014, I was promoted to Counsel to the Firm. As Counsel to the firm, I ran the day-to-day operations of the legal aspects of the firm as well as directly supervised four (4) attorneys while managing my own caseload. I also successfully performed trials, including obtaining jury findings of "no negligence" in Salazar v Campus Realty, LLC in New York County, New York, in June, 2016, and in Mele v Starbucks in Union County, New Jersey, in May, 2017.
In 2018, I decided to start my own law firm so that I can fully focus my attention on my clients and litigation.
I represent individuals, insurance carriers, and Corporate clients in a variety of cases, including personal injury, contract/lease disputes, commercial litigation, insurance coverage issues, civil litigation, and criminal/municipal court matters.
I was awarded the "Top 40 Under 40" achievement in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
I was also named to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 list in 2018.
For the last 4 years, I have been named to the American Trial Lawyers’ Top 100 list.
I am proud to boast a perfect 5-Star client-review rating on Avvo.com (over 20 reviews) as well as over 140 Peer endorsements.
I look forward to giving your case the time and attention that it deserves in order to achieve your desired results.
